My path to this career has been an unconventional one. My son was diagnosed with Autism when he was 2 and a half and my life had been changed forever.  We tried countless therapies, followed different diets, and experimented with unconventional protocols so that we could "cure" my son.  Although we had to redefine what "cure" was , ABA was what produced the most lasting results.

We also ran around many ABA agencies and I have worked in several too. However, the bottom line for most seems to be money. Please don't get me wrong - money is not evil, is a great level-setter and enabler but when that becomes the main criterion for how successful an ABA company is, I start to question the quality of services.

The other thing that I would like to cultivate is providing solutions that are culturally relevant to the families that we serve. I find this lacking in many agencies that I have seen. It is a good practice to program culturally relevant programs not only for better generalization but also for better overall self-esteem. The facade of families that are being diagnosed is constantly changing and cultural sensitivity needs to be exercised if we want to see relevant and lasting outcomes for all our families.

My mission for Pegasus Autism Care is to create valuable growth in clients (children and parents) and personal growth in coworkers so the end result is growth for all. I encourage open communication and feedback so there is growth for everyone. This growth in turn would be my criterion for success. This may be a business for others but it's very personal to me.
